A large lamp by Romeo Rega

Italy c. 1970

A faintly amethyst-tinted, clear lucite shade over an opaque inner shade, joined by polished steel arms and supported on four square columns of amethyst lucite on a chrome plinth base.

Rega made at least three versions of this design, the current being the largest and at the time, most expensive. The lamps had a cuboid shade whose geometry is echoed in the inner diffuser and the almost constructionist use of metal supports piercing each at right angles.
