A Large Belle Epoque Neoclassical Mirror

England, c 1900

A large and glamorous neoclassical mirror, or pier glass, the giltwood frame inset with panels of fluted and shaped glass, in the baroque taste, the stepped arched top centred on a scrolling acanthus ‘key stone’, the sides in the form of pilasters topped with Corinthian capitals, the original fluted glass borders with some cracks, the mirror glass with some loses to the silvering.
